Ease of Use
Logging into Trillian is fast and simple; in fact, users can sign in using their existing accounts from their most popular messengers. Once logged in, adding contacts is as easy as pressing a button and sounds and messaging alerts can be altered in the options menu.
Once you connect with a friend, you can send and receive messages just as you normally would with your previous messaging client. Emoticons may appear slightly different in Trillian when compared to those in Windows Live Messenger, but they still work and act the same. Hidden animated smileys are available in the Pro version, but they can still be seen used without animations in the basic version.

Each service is presented in Trillian by a specific color; for example: Blue signifies Windows Live Messenger, while Red indicates a Yahoo! connection.
